Mission: “To Harness the power of the collective in effort to identify, create and promote community based solutions, that will result in the strengthening of the Portland, Oregon African American Community.”

The Urban League State of Black Oregon Report identified some important challenges African Americans face within our community.   The Portland African American Leadership Forum (PAALF) was formed to address these issues.  PAALF is an initiative of the Northwest Area Foundation (NWAF) and exists to create dialogue regarding the most important issues facing the African American community in Portland.  PAALF is also challenged to craft a shared agenda that responds to the issues identified, and then to develop an action plan that engages and connects other community stakeholders to the shared agenda.
